Construction has begun on 167 new two, three and four-bedroom homes at Countryside’s Galton Lock development in Smethwick.

Located on Mafeking Road, just five miles from the bright lights of Birmingham City Centre, 104 of the family-sized homes will be available for sale on the open market through a number of home buying initiatives, such as the popular Help to Buy scheme.

The remaining 63 properties will be made available on the rental market, providing tenants with expertly managed, high quality, family homes in an excellent commuter location.

Countryside is also working closely with the Bangladeshi Islamic Centre, which is located on Lewisham Road, to provide a much-needed car park for visitors to the mosque.

Peter Vella, Regional Sales and Marketing Director at Countryside, commented: “Having only launched our new West Midlands office in 2016, this will be our second development to launch within the region, making it a very important and exciting move for Countryside. Our top quality designs are set to provide much-needed homes for both young professionals and families within the local community.

“We’ve also been working very closely with the Bangladeshi Islamic Centre to provide a car park, which is something that they have needed for quite some time. Hopefully this will help make the mosque more accessible for local people, as we hope that it will play a key role in the community that we are aiming to create through these homes.”

Each of the new homes is being developed to a high quality specification to offer local families the unique opportunity to be part of the area’s impressive transformation at an affordable price.
